From Outbreak to Order. Turning Crisis into Calm.

Norovirus is one of the most disruptive infections we face in senior living—it spreads fast, overwhelms staff, and usually means sending residents to the ER. But during a recent outbreak, everything was different. With Savoy Life onsite, every resident was treated right here, families were reassured, and our staff was able to keep the community running without disruption. Their swift action and expert support turned what could have been a chaotic situation into one of calm and control.

Medication support & primary care provider gap coverage

A senior living resident had her last visit with a PCP whose services were discontinued by the community. During that visit, the PCP decreased two of her medications which led to side effects. A Savoy provider promptly saw her, re—instated her original medication, and initiated a medication management plan. The resident was also referred for pain management. Today, Savoy is actively monitoring the resident to ensure there are no further side effects. In addition, Savoy found the resident a PCP and scheduled an appointment for her to meet with her new doctor.

Catching infections & coordinating with specialists

A diabetic resident left a bandage on his foot, covering a callus too long. When a Savoy RN examined the foot, she discovered it was infected. The Savoy team scheduled an appointment with the resident's podiatrist who saw him the next day. The podiatrist told the resident that if he had not come in that day, he would have wound up in the hospital.
